Crochet a Back To School Scarf

This brightly-colored scarf will get you lots of compliments.

The bright colors in this scarf add to the pattern to make a cozy warm scarf that looks great.  The pattern is shown on the Lion Brand website along with many other free patterns.  The pattern suggests using Lion Brand Landscapes verigated yarn which is available in several different colors and gives the scarf its multi-color finish.  See the easy-to-follow pattern below.

Rows 1 and 2 = about 7 in. (18 cm).

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
